I love the people, the facilities, the proximity to everything we need. Most of all, i love the way people pull together for a neighbor who needs help. we can bicker about politics, but when any one of us needs help in any way --- everyone is there.
My biggest problem is that we are not only three towns in search of a community, but are now split by the development we live in . When we all become one town: Montville Township, we will then be a community. terry cavanaugh

THANK YOU, RON!
I am happy to say the Montville Township IS and ALWAYS WAS a wonderful place to grow up and live in!
I grew up in Pine Brook (went to the Eda Konner School and Woodmont - over to Central School (Lazar) and into the "brand new" high school when it opened!
I married in the late 70's, started a family and rented a home in Montville before purchasing one in Towaco. My children went through the school system and graduated from MHS. They are successful young people now!
This is "MY" home. Happy to be here! I just hope and pray that I can stay. Would be a very sad day if I had to leave because it has become too expensive to live in.

Our family enjoys the July 4th Celebrations, Montville Day and the Jazz Festival. The Library has wonderful events as well as the schools!
These are all great ways for the residents of our community to get together and enjoy each other.
It is a lovely township!

We love all of the recreation programs that the town offers. The facilities are great, and the coaches seem very devoted.
Our kids are too young for school but it seems that parents are very active and involved in the schools which we think helps kids learn.
We wish there was more shopping available though. We both work and would like to have a good supermarket or specialty grocery store in town.

The caring Volunteers of our Fire Departments and the First Aid Squad are all wonderful people - I hope with all the growth and new families in our beautiful township that more people will step up to the plate and Volunteer!
As previously mentioned here - all the festivities are wonderful. Our family enjoys them all!
Thank you Montville Township residents who help make our community a wonderful place to live.

Montville is a very convienent location. The town does it's level best to provide a good education. The local business people do an adequate job of providing services. The open space which is available seems to be well managed. The Soccer fields seem to be well utilized with a lot of happy kids. I believe politically the only thing left is too figure out how to handle all that we have been blessed with. Ray Mulligan

Yes, thank you Ron. I love having a chance to say something positive!
I love the quiet and feeling of safety. We moved here from Queens 17 years ago and feel like we moved to heaven. Towaco is so lovely. We have wild turkeys, red foxes, and the occasional black bear. It is country living less than an hour from the city.
We love it!

I could not make the meeting but I would like to tell you why I love Montville. I have been here since I was 18 years old. I am not 45. I became divorced and did everything in my power to stay in this town for my Son's Education. It has PAID OFF BIGTIME. The teacher's, the people, the school's, are all absolutely wonderful. They have gone out of the way to make my son feel included and succeed. It has been worth every penny I have had to pay to live here and I will never regret this. Ofcourse it helps to have a great kid but with that said, I am telling you even the dress code. I was in the H.S. one day and heard a teacher tell a boy to take off his hat. I LOVE IT. I may not be rich but I am rich in my heart with my son doing so well and being in such a wonderful Town. Hats off to MONTVILLE.

I love Montville also! I was raised in this Township and raised my children here also. I was also divorced and did my best to finish raising my son's here and succeeded!
The schools were excellent and now my son's are happy and doing very well with college and beyond!
It is a pretty and lovely area! Most everyone in the Township is friendly, helpful and I will continue to stay here for as long as possible!

My family loves living in Montville Township. My neighbors love living in Montville Township.
Looking forward to another wonderful 4th of July Celebration and spending time with the good people of Montville Township!
It is a pleasure to see comments in a positive manner. Complaining and bickering are not necessary.
Enjoy all there is to enjoy in our hometown! I know I do!

If things are so great, why not come out from behind the curtain. People with concerns may have a deep seeded reason to be anonymous. Positive people could do a would of good if they whore their optimisn on their sleeve.

One of my personal favorite things is the Annual Michelle Sullivan Fund Softball Tournament, brings many surrounding communities into town for a 3-day event. This year (our 9th Year) we had 44 teams participate, in 51 hours 101 games of Fast Pitch Softball were played! I enjoy hearing the compliments from complete strangers of how people come together unconditionally for a great cause, and allows our community to shine!

I have lived in Montville for 28 years. I attended Hilldale, Central and the high school. My daughter now attends school here also.
Montville has changed so much over the years. Community Park is very nice with the new playground, snack bar, basketball courts, turf fields, nice soccer fields and the Youth Center.
Camp Dawson is great with the new facilities there.
We have very nice business's and restaurants.
Also, we have a beautiful Municipal building and Police Station.
I always encourage my daughter to play outside (manhunt) with her friends.
This is a great town. I love it here.

What is rewarding to see from the comments are the positive remarks about the township and our facilities. A fact that newer residents may not know is that when I was elected in 1989 we had none of the great facilities we have now. Over the fifteen years I served it was a long and sometimes painfull process for the Township Committee. I am extremely proud of what the Township has to offer and it was truly a Committee effort. Yes we had disagreements over individual improvements but we moved ahead none the less.

Our family enjoys the Library and I especially love the view from there! Kite flying is especially enjoyed up on the hill also.
The Community Park is a fine place for all the activities and just walking around and relaxing on a bench here and there.
Montville Township is a fine place to live!

I love the dog park. I know some of you are going to make fun of it because it cost one million dollars, but it is the best one in New Jersey and we are lucky to have it in Montville.

Golly Mr. Grant!
Is it true that Montville didn't have a police station, municipal building, library, fire house, or even a dog park before you were elected to save us?

And Golly, Mr. Grant, didn't you wspend over $9,000,000 on that new Police Station when the original estimate was $4,000,000? And why did you use a $1,000,000 piece of prime real estate for a dog park? Inquiring citizens want to know...

Anonymous, This section is supposed to be for what you like about Montville Township. There is another section for what you don't like. The facts are the facts even if you don't know them or were not living here at that time. Ther library was in a portion of where the Senior Center is now with two trailers hanging off the back and the police station was in the building at River Rd. that the Board of Ed used until it was condemned. We had two grass fields at the community center and a practice field. Obviously nothing happens with out at least three votes but none the less I am proud of the role I had in those improvements. By the way the Kramer property had two different development proposals withdrawn by the applicants and there a petition to buy it, presented with 560 names of families in that area who wanted to see it protected.

There are two ways to make a finer community, work to make it a better place, or work to stop it from becoming a worse place.

Here we go again : what should have been an upbeat article on what's good about Montville Township, mires in the mudslinging. As Mr. Grant has answered very aptly, i won't even go into what we had as a library, a police station or a municipal building. The policemen themselves testified at TC meetings as to the inhabitability of the station, infested with rats and you-name-it. And, by the way, the people who complain about the cost were very willing to tell Mr. Bendixen that everything he proposed was wonderful. Why is it that one or two people always get the blame when things don't go as certain people would hope? and, may i add, these are the same people who voted for the police station. The library was laughable, and an embarrassment . AS for the municipal building, and the resultant brouhaha - another story. To get back to the issue: why do people take something potentially postive and healing, and proceed to throw their slime? and, by the way, hide under "anonymous"? Even if you don't want to register with Google, you can always sign your name,..... if you dare. Terry Cavanaugh

Terry: Voting for the police station and having it come in many millions over budget are 2 very different issues. I know that in most companies the project manager would surely be fired for that, yet I don't remember anyone on the town's payroll getting as much as a slap on the hand. That should be disconcerting for all hard working taxpayers in Montville and should be a sign that our interests are not being looked after by either the TC or the township employees.

Our family of six just loves living in Montville Township! We have been here for 24 years and have not had any problems with neighbors or schools or any residents/leaders here.
All of the events - from yard sales, school functions/activities, 4th of July celebrations, picnics, concerts and car shows - are excellent and most enjoyable.
Thank you everyone in our fine community for a lovely and happy place to live!
