Not quiet in the library
Posted by Ron Soussa at 11:04 PM

Library patrons protest for Vidris - About 30 people attended the Aug. 14 Montville Township Committee meeting with a singular goal - reinstating Lorenza Vidris as public relations and communications director at the Montville Public Library. The group waved signs that read, "Bring Lorenza Back" and "Taxpayers For Lorenza Vidris." See Neighbor News and Daily Record.

Websters defines "library" as a place where literary, musical, artistic, ore reference materials (as books, manuscripts, recordings, or films) are kept for use but not for sale.

Belly dancing and martial arts belong in the recreation department. These may be attractive programs to some library patrons but I want my tax dollars and library employees' time spent on the items listed by Mr. Webster!

The protestors certainly have a first amendment right to protest. However, Ms. Vidris does not have any rights to a job -- she was an employee at will. Therefore, the library board was within their rights to fire her for whatever reason or for no reason at all.

What right does she have to complain? She couldn't even pass her civil service test, and now she is threatening to sue?

Shame on Lorenza Vidris!

Belly dancing and martial arts? At the library??? No wonder Johnny can't read.

Lorenza is suing the town and library board.

On what grounds is she suing?

I hope that they are able to recover their legal costs from her.

Shame on her.

Does anyone know what she is alleging in her complaint?
